Kaishu Okada is a Senior Managing Director with the firm. He joined the firm in late 2016 to establish a Tokyo office. Kaishu’s primary focus is on forging relationships with Japanese retailers and restaurants looking to expand into the U.S. He joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF.
Kaishu has 10 years of experience in residential and commercial leasing and sales in Japan. Prior to his affiliation with RKF, he was an Executive Vice President with Apollo Estate Co., Ltd. In Chuo-ku, Tokyo, establishing a new business model as buyer’s/renter’s agent, working exclusively with foreign clientele. He jointly worked with lawyers intermediating property transactions as exclusive agent. Previously, he was a real estate agent with Aiwa Housing Co., Ltd. in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo Japan, where he led the company in sales for six consecutive years. He was also responsible for numerous exclusive listings with individual and cooperate lenders, leasing residential projects. Prior to that he was with Nimnak Travel in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Kyonanen Nursing Home in Awagun, Chiba and Itoen Co., Ltd., one of Japan’s leading beverage companies, in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
Kaishu is a licensed realtor in Toyko. He is a graduate of KEIO Academy of New York, which he attended in Purchase, NY and Tokyo’s KEIO University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Kaishu is fluent in Japanese and English.
