Richard Gelber is a senior managing director with Newmark Knight Frank specializing in landlord and tenant representation.
Mr. Gelber has successfully worked on behalf of landlords, including The Albanese Organization, Extell Development Company, KLM Equities, Manocherian Brothers, The Related Companies, Silverstein Properties, Vornado Realty Trust and The Witkoff Group.
Some of Mr. Gelber’s accomplishments include leasing 15,000 square feet to Equinox for its Blink Fitness concept at 692 Broadway; 11,700 square feet at 956 Second Avenue to The Smith restaurant; 10,000 square feet at 920 Broadway to Flying Tiger; and 7,600 square feet to Bonobos at 95 Fifth Avenue.
Mr. Gelber has also assisted many retailers with their Manhattan retail real estate requirements, including Chick-fil-A, Jenny Craig, L’Occitane en Provence, McDonald’s, Oliviers & Co., The Regis Corporation (Jean Louis David, Super Cuts and Vidal Sassoon) and UFC Gyms. Additionally, he has helped Citibank and Cohen’s Fashion Optical secure several locations throughout Manhattan.
Mr. Gelber joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF, a New York-based retail real estate brokerage and investment firm. Prior to RKF, he worked at Retail Development Partners, where he was responsible for the retail leasing of Millennium Partners’ urban area portfolio.
Richard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Law and Public Policy from Syracuse University’s School of Management. He is a licensed salesperson in the state of New York and is a member of The International Council of Shopping Centers and the Real Estate Board of New York.
