New Gabriel Kreuther Restaurant and Bluestone Lane Coffee Coming to Midtown
NEW YORK – RKF, North America’s leading independent real estate firm specializing in retail leasing, investment sales and consulting services, announced today that it has arranged two new leases at the Grace Building in Midtown for renowned chef Gabriel Kreuther’s first solo restaurant and Bluestone Lane Coffee. The Grace Building is co-owned by Brookfield and The Swig Company.
Kreuther’s yet-to-be-named new restaurant will feature high-end Alsatian-American cuisine and is expected to debut next year. It will be designed by Glen Coben of architectural and interior design firm Glen & Company. The lease at 1114 Avenue of the Americas, directly across from Bryant Park, consists of 8,000 square feet on the ground floor and 7,000 square feet on the second floor. RKF Managing Director Spencer Levy and Associate Michael Yohai represented Gabriel Kreuther and the Teton Restaurant Group on the lease. Brookfield was represented in-house by National Director of Retail Leasing Edward Hogan.
Gabriel Kreuther was formerly the Executive Chef at The Modern. He has also been the Executive Chef at Atelier at the Ritz Carlton New York, chef de cuisine at Restaurant Jean Georges, and a sous chef at La Caravelle, in addition to working at several leading kitchens in Europe. He was named the “Best New Chef” by Food & Wine in 2003, and won the James Beard award as “Best Chef: New York City” in 2009.
“Bryant Park is really becoming a social center of Midtown and both high-end and fast-casual restaurants are grabbing locations neighboring the park,” said Mr. Levy. “The unmatched prestige and prime location of the Grace Building make it the ideal spot for Mr. Kreuther’s restaurant.”
Bluestone Lane Coffee has taken a 600-square-foot café space on the plaza at 1114 Avenue of the Americas and is expected to open this month. Known for its hand-crafted quality espresso and influenced by the coffee culture hub of Melbourne, Australia, this will be the fourth location for Bluestone, with another one coming to 770 Broadway on October 1, also arranged by RKF. RKF Managing Director Jon Krieger represented Bluestone in the transaction, while Edward Hogan and Mark Kostic represented Brookfield.
“As the park continues to develop into a Midtown hub, office tenants as well are attracted to the Bryant Park corridor, making this a great location for Bluestone Lane to capitalize on the growing office population, a key demographic for the brand,” added Mr. Krieger.
The Grace Building is a 50-story, class A office tower located on West 42nd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Restaurant STK currently occupies a ground-floor retail space on the 43rd Street side.
